Fasten the third strap lower down the right hip of your kilt to achieve a smooth fit across the stomach. Check to see whether it’s not bunching.

Step 3:

Make any necessary kilt adjustments. If you belted the kilt correctly, the fringed edge should be along the right side of the kilt and the kilt should be centred on the body.

Step 4:

Put on the kilt hose, garters (a stretchy band), and flashes (colored ribbons). In general, match your flashes to your kilt. Before dealing with the other two components, pull the kilt hose, which resemble knee socks, over the knee.

Just below the knee, fasten the garter and flashes. Flashes should be placed on the outside of the leg.

Fold the kilt hose to approximately 3–4 fingers down and over the garter, exposing a few inches of the flashes. Smooth it all out and make any required adjustments to ensure that both sets of flashes are displayed at the same angle. For example, left hand at 11 a.m., right hand at 1 p.m.
